Caleb's latest happenings - and ours too!

Caleb does NOT like the noise from Dad working on the ceiling - but the end result looks great!

What a busy few weeks we have had! Jonathan just finished out his first full week of unemployment. In addition to job hunting, he is helping out some friends with finishing their basement, putting a ceiling up in our apartment (it's so nice to finally have a finished ceiling!), and attending to other little things around the house that got put off when he was traveling so much for work. This weekend, he had his annual winter Mt. Washington climb with the guys from church - for the first time in years, they actually made it to the summit!

He's also been able to spend a lot of time with Caleb - they especially like to cook dinner together, which is fine by me! We continue to pray for lots of guidance and direction in this time as we consider many options, and are quite open to whatever may be next.

I am continuing to work part time...it is stressful some days doing special needs advocacy, but the experience is good for my career and I am learning a lot. Caleb loves the hours we spend babysitting in the afternoons - he watches the big boys longingly and I know he is just itching to run around and play like them! The kids are very good to him - they bring him toys, shush each other when they know he is sleeping, and give him lots of kisses.

Caleb is changing so much each week, as always. He now has a real language of his own that he babbles away in all day long. He is fascinated by everything and insists on being a part of whatever we are doing. He is beginning to teeth so there is lots of chewing on everything, from spatulas to bibs to his own fingers! The teething presents a new challenge in fussiness and sleep troubles but we keep on trucking. He seems much happier the morning after a rough night than his mom and dad do!

We have taken a few winter walks - Caleb seems to like the fresh air. There have been some really beautiful snowstorms that just blanket our road and create a wonderland of the trees and ocean and lighthouses. Jonathan has to do the shoveling so I'm not sure if he finds it so wonderful! We are eager for spring so we can be outside more...it has been a long winter already.

He is also very grabby now (re: his fascination with everything) and gets my hair and jewelry quite often. He seems to have a penchant for dad's facial hair as well!

We are working on bedtime routines...it's not set quite yet but involves some combination of jammies, swaddling, nursing, books, singing, and prayers. Here's Caleb getting changed for bed - he finds his toes to be a convenient toy (including for chewing!) and loves to play with the stuffed lamb he got from Oma and Opa for Christmas at almost every change.

This is Caleb's friend Levi, just one month younger than him, getting dedicated at church - next weekend is Caleb's turn and Nana and Grampy are coming to visit, so many pictures to come, I'm sure.

I'd love to make our blog look fancier, but since I'm not so good at the technical computer stuff, I am searching around for other blog sites that might help me out more...so we may have a new blog address for you at some point too! For now, the new thing I figured out how to do was post a video - enjoy!
