Right outside our front door....

We've had some really beautiful weather the past few weeks! We finally finished our front flower bed and we have a hanging plant that I love called a lantana.

We also have loved watching two different bird families growing right outside our house...there was a sparrow nest in the cedar shrub outside our bedroom, but it was so well hidden we barely saw it. But a robin built her nest right outside the bathroom window, and we got to watch the five baby birds eat and grow and even caught the first flight out of the nest for one of them. They're gone already - baby birds grow up so fast! We're glad our little guy will stay a baby with us for just a bit longer. =)

Daddy's 30th birthday!

June 7th was Jonathan's 30th birthday! He had just returned home from yet another work trip and we were very happy to have a whole Saturday with nothing else to do but spend time with each other and have fun.

In the morning we went to some yard sales for more baby gear (yay!). Then I took him to Jordan's Furniture to try out the trapeze at the indoor trapeze school. He definitely wanted to stay and play longer! Here he is waiting for the trapeze bar....

And here I am - those are some of the giant jelly bean flowers out in front of the Jelly Belly store.

While we were right there, Jonathan decided we should go see Kung Fu Panda in the Imax theater - Jack Black is hysterical!

After that adventure, we headed into the city for dinner at Fire and Ice. If you've never been...you should go! It's super fun. They have a giant grill in the middle of the restaurant, and you go around to all these little stations and fill up a dish with stir fry ingredients, then they cook it in front of you - and it's all you can eat so you can try lots of different combinations.

We didn't have a lot of room left in our stomachs by then but did manage to stop by Cold Stone Creamery for ice cream on the way home. It was really a perfect day!

Memorial Day and more...

Some more fun from our Memorial Day weekend - we were supposed to go camping, but we cancelled at the last minute and had a wonderful, relaxing weekend at home instead. We started our flower bed (still not finished....).

We also went yard sale-ing and found some great treasures, among them a rocking chair for the nursery and brand new legos for Jonathan!

The Monday holiday felt like our first real summer day, hot and sunny and not a cloud in the sky. We went to Rochelle and Catherine's house...Jon worked on finishing up their dining room table and we had a barbecue. Auntie Rose has done a great job on all the flowers in their yard - and check out that handmade arbor!

This past weekend, Nana and Grampy (? - not sure what Dad will be called yet!) came for a visit. Dad spent most of his time helping Rose and Cate with their new fence - Barley is very happy with the results!

Mom and I went out to eat - Baby's first Nick's Roast Beef, yum! We had a great weekend enjoying the weather and shopping and spoiling the future little grandson. Dad managed to leave us some fresh-cooked fiddleheads as well!

Happy June, everybody!
